smoke stack first opened in 1996 in with the aim of providing good quality but unpretentious food in stylish surroundings while maintaining a relaxed atmosphere. the menu contains the best quality steaks and burgers you would expect from a chargrill restaurant but also has an extensive selection of seafood and vegetarian dishes to suit the non-carnivore, an option sorely lacking in most 'steakhouse' restaurants.

our first restaurant is in edinburgh's hippest area, broughton street, where we also run a phenomenally successful bar, the basement and is just five minutes from princes street or two minutes from the playhouse theatre. check directions for details
